Abamune 300mg Tablet

Abamune 300mg Tablet is a prescription antiretroviral drug belonging to the nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI) class. It is used as part of combination antiretroviral therapy (ART) for the treatment of HIV-1 infection in adults and children weighing at least 25 kg.

Abacavir works by inhibiting the reverse transcriptase enzyme of HIV, which is essential for viral replication. By interfering with this enzyme, Abacavir helps reduce the amount of HIV in the body (viral load) and increases the number of CD4+ (T-helper) cells, improving the immune system's ability to fight infections.

Abacavir does not cure HIV/AIDS, but it helps prevent the virus from multiplying, slows disease progression, and reduces the risk of complications.
