Alburel 20% 100ml Infusion

Alburel 20% 100ml Infusion is a highly concentrated sterile intravenous (IV) solution containing human serum albumin, a natural plasma protein derived from pooled human blood plasma. It is widely used in critical care, surgery, and emergency medicine to treat patients with severe hypoalbuminemia, fluid imbalance, or those requiring plasma volume expansion with minimal fluid load.

Each 100 mL of this solution contains 20 grams of albumin, making it four times more concentrated than Albumin 5%. Due to its hyperoncotic nature, it draws fluid from the interstitial space back into the bloodstream, making it particularly effective in patients with edema, ascites, or circulatory instability caused by conditions like:

• Liver cirrhosis

• Nephrotic syndrome

• Septic shock

• Major burns

• Plasmapheresis

• Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS)

Alburel 20% 100ml Infusion is a preferred colloid solution when fluid restriction is necessary, such as in cardiac, renal, or pulmonary compromised patients, because it restores blood volume without large-volume infusions. It also serves as a carrier protein for hormones, enzymes, and drugs, playing a vital role in maintaining osmotic pressure and nutrient transport.
