Cipirox Cream 30gm

Cipirox Cream 30 gm is a topical antifungal medication used for the treatment of various fungal skin infections. It contains Ciclopirox Olamine (1% w/w) as the active ingredient. This medicine is commonly used for conditions such as ringworm, athlete’s foot, jock itch, and other superficial fungal infections of the skin. It works by killing fungi and also reducing inflammation, itching, and redness associated with fungal infections, helping the skin recover faster.

The Ciclopirox Olamine acts as a broad-spectrum antifungal agent that works by disrupting the fungal cell membrane and interfering with essential cellular processes such as enzyme activity and nutrient transport. It binds to metal ions like iron and aluminum that fungi need for survival, leading to the breakdown of fungal cell metabolism.

This results in inhibition of fungal growth and eventual death of the fungus. Additionally, it has mild antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, which help reduce secondary bacterial infection and soothe irritated skin, making it effective in treating inflamed fungal lesions.

Precaution

• Do not apply on open or deep wounds unless advised.
