Dermi 5 Cream plays an important role in treating inflamed skin conditions complicated by fungal and bacterial infections by combining five active ingredients with complementary actions. Clobetasol Propionate is a very potent corticosteroid that rapidly reduces inflammation, itching, redness, and swelling by suppressing the release of inflammatory substances in the skin. While it provides fast symptom relief, it should be used only for the duration prescribed because prolonged or inappropriate use can lead to skin thinning and may mask or worsen fungal infections.

Clotrimazole and Tolnaftate are antifungal agents that work against common fungi responsible for conditions such as ringworm, athlete's foot, and jock itch. They interfere with the fungal cell membrane, stopping fungal growth and eliminating the infection. Gentamicin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that kills susceptible bacteria by blocking bacterial protein synthesis, helping treat secondary bacterial infections that may occur when the skin is damaged. Iodochlorhydroxyquinoline provides additional antifungal and antibacterial activity, further enhancing infection control.

Together, these ingredients help relieve itching, burning, redness, and discomfort while treating the underlying fungal and bacterial infection. However, because the cream contains Clobetasol, it should be used only when specifically prescribed and not as a routine treatment for fungal infections. Using potent steroid combinations without medical supervision can delay proper diagnosis, increase the risk of recurrence, and contribute to a condition known as tinea incognito, where fungal infections become more difficult to recognize and treat.
