Dermiquik 5 Cream is a prescription combination topical medicine used for the treatment of inflamed skin conditions associated with fungal or bacterial infections. It combines Clobetasol Propionate, a potent corticosteroid that reduces inflammation, redness, itching, and swelling; Ketoconazole and Tolnaftate, which are antifungal agents effective against various skin fungi; Neomycin, an antibiotic that treats susceptible bacterial infections; and Iodochlorhydroxyquinoline (Clioquinol), an antimicrobial agent with antifungal and antibacterial activity. This combination is commonly prescribed for selected cases of infected dermatitis or mixed skin infections where inflammation is significant. Because it contains a very potent steroid (Clobetasol), it should be used only for the duration and condition prescribed by a healthcare professional. It should not be used indiscriminately for undiagnosed rashes, acne, viral skin infections, or prolonged periods, as inappropriate use may worsen certain infections or cause skin damage.

Dermiquik 5 Cream combines Clobetasol Propionate 0.05%, Ketoconazole 2%, Tolnaftate 1%, Neomycin 0.1%, and Iodochlorhydroxyquinoline 1% to provide broad-spectrum management of selected inflamed skin conditions complicated by fungal and bacterial infections. Clobetasol Propionate rapidly reduces inflammation, redness, itching, and swelling by suppressing the skin's inflammatory response. Ketoconazole inhibits ergosterol synthesis, an essential component of fungal cell membranes, effectively treating susceptible fungal infections. Tolnaftate further enhances antifungal activity by inhibiting fungal growth, particularly in superficial dermatophyte infections. Neomycin eliminates susceptible bacteria by blocking bacterial protein synthesis, reducing secondary bacterial infection. Iodochlorhydroxyquinoline (Clioquinol) provides additional antibacterial and antifungal coverage, making the formulation useful in selected mixed superficial skin infections.

Together, these ingredients help relieve symptoms, reduce infection, and promote healing. Because the cream contains a high-potency corticosteroid, it should be used only for short periods and under medical supervision to minimize the risk of steroid-related side effects and avoid masking or worsening untreated infections.

Precaution
