Gemcal Nasal Solution

Gemcal Nasal Solution is a hormonal medication used for the treatment and prevention of bone-related disorders such as osteoporosis, Paget’s disease, and hypercalcemia (high calcium levels in the blood). It contains Calcitonin, a naturally occurring hormone derived from salmon, which helps regulate calcium and bone metabolism.

Calcitonin works by inhibiting bone resorption, a process in which bone tissue is broken down and calcium is released into the bloodstream. By doing so, it helps maintain bone density, reduce fracture risk, and lower elevated calcium levels.

This medicine is commonly available in nasal spray and injectable forms. It is particularly beneficial for postmenopausal women, individuals with osteoporosis due to prolonged steroid use, and patients suffering from Paget’s disease of bone.
