Delivery within 1 or 2 daysHuman Albumin 20% Baxter Infusion is a sterile intravenous plasma protein solution containing Human Albumin 20% w/v. It is used to restore and maintain blood volume in patients with low circulating blood volume (hypovolemia) when plasma expansion is required. It is also used in conditions such as severe burns, liver cirrhosis with ascites, hypoalbuminemia, major surgery, trauma, nephrotic syndrome, plasma exchange, and certain critically ill patients. Albumin is the major protein naturally present in human plasma and plays an essential role in maintaining colloid osmotic (oncotic) pressure, transporting hormones, drugs, fatty acids, and other substances throughout the body. Administration should be performed only by trained healthcare professionals with careful monitoring of fluid balance, blood pressure, and electrolyte levels. The infusion rate and dose are individualized according to the patient's clinical condition.
Human Albumin 20% Baxter Infusion contains Human Albumin, the principal plasma protein responsible for maintaining colloid osmotic pressure and regulating the movement of fluids between blood vessels and body tissues. By increasing plasma oncotic pressure, albumin draws fluid from the interstitial spaces back into the bloodstream, effectively expanding circulating blood volume and improving tissue perfusion. This makes it valuable in the management of hypovolemia, severe burns, liver cirrhosis with ascites, nephrotic syndrome, major surgery, trauma, plasma exchange, and hypoalbuminemia. In addition to maintaining fluid balance, albumin serves as a transport protein for hormones, bilirubin, fatty acids, calcium, and numerous medications, contributing to normal physiological function.
Because it is derived from human plasma, strict manufacturing and viral inactivation procedures are used to enhance safety. Administration requires careful monitoring to avoid fluid overload, pulmonary edema, and allergic reactions, particularly in patients with underlying cardiovascular or renal disease.
AIt is used to restore blood volume, treat hypoalbuminemia, and manage conditions such as severe burns, liver disease, trauma, and plasma volume depletion.
AIt is given only by intravenous infusion under the supervision of trained healthcare professionals.
AYes. It is a purified plasma protein prepared from human plasma using stringent screening and viral inactivation procedures.
AYes. By expanding plasma volume, it may increase blood pressure and improve circulation in patients with low blood volume.
AIt may be used only when clearly needed and prescribed by a doctor, after evaluating the potential benefits and risks.
ASeek urgent medical care if you develop difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, severe rash, chest pain, sudden shortness of breath, persistent fever, or signs of a severe allergic reaction or fluid overload during the infusion.
