While short-acting insulin immediately enters the bloodstream, Mixtard 40IU functions more gradually thereby helping in better management of blood glucose levels.
Human Mixtard 40IU is a mixture of four different insulins, which are: Insulin Aspart, Insulin Bovine (Regular), Insulin Lispro and Insulin Iletin II. Insulin is naturally produced by the pancreas and is essential in the regulation of glucose levels in the body. It works to separate the sugar molecules within carbohydrates to help it be utilized by cells. If there is not enough insulin available to convert the sugar into energy or carbohydrate, blood sugar levels will remain elevated.
It should be injected under the skin of your buttocks, abdomen, or upper arm. This medicine works by lowering blood sugar levels. It is often used in combination with other diabetes medications.
Human insulin/soluble insulin and isophane/NPH are fast-acting analogs of natural insulin: both substances have a rapid onset of action and a rapid elimination from the body in humans. The main difference between human insulin/soluble insulin and isophane/ NPH is the time of their peak activity.
Human Mixtard 70/30 Suspension for Injection helps with sugar control. It works in several ways, including providing support during meals and in between, as well as supporting exercise and physical activities.
