It protects against four influenza virus strains, including two Influenza A and two Influenza B strains selected based on global surveillance for the current flu season. The vaccine stimulates the immune system to produce protective antibodies without causing influenza infection. Vaccination significantly reduces the risk of flu illness, hospitalization, severe complications such as pneumonia, and flu-related deaths, particularly in older adults, pregnant women, healthcare workers, individuals with chronic medical conditions, and people with weakened immunity. Since influenza virus strains change frequently, annual vaccination is recommended. Although vaccination cannot guarantee complete protection, it greatly reduces the severity and complications of influenza infection if exposure occurs.
Influvac Tetra 0.5 ml Vaccine is a quadrivalent inactivated influenza vaccine designed to provide protection against four influenza virus strains, including two Influenza A and two Influenza B viruses predicted to circulate during the current flu season. After intramuscular administration, the inactivated viral antigens stimulate the immune system to produce specific antibodies and activate immune memory cells. These antibodies recognize and neutralize influenza viruses upon future exposure, reducing the likelihood of infection or significantly decreasing disease severity.
Annual vaccination is necessary because influenza viruses frequently undergo genetic changes, requiring updated vaccine formulations each season. Influvac Tetra is especially beneficial for older adults, pregnant women, healthcare workers, children, individuals with diabetes, heart disease, lung disease, kidney disease, or weakened immunity, who are at higher risk of severe influenza complications. By preventing influenza and reducing transmission, the vaccine also contributes to community protection, lowers hospitalizations, decreases absenteeism, and helps reduce flu-related complications such as pneumonia and secondary bacterial infections.
AIt is used to help prevent seasonal influenza (flu) by protecting against four influenza virus strains included in the current seasonal vaccine.
ANo. It contains inactivated (non-live) virus components and cannot cause influenza infection.
AOnce every year, because influenza virus strains change each season and immunity decreases over time.
AProtective immunity generally develops within about 2 weeks after vaccination.
AYes. Influenza vaccination is generally recommended during pregnancy because it helps protect both the mother and the baby. Follow your healthcare provider's advice.
ASeek urgent medical care if you develop difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, severe rash, persistent high fever, fainting that does not improve, or signs of a severe allergic reaction.
