Lumifen Tablet

Lumifen Tablet are a high-strength antimalarial medication used for the treatment of uncomplicated malaria caused by Plasmodium falciparum. This fixed-dose combination is intended for adults and adolescents with higher body weight (typically above 65–70 kg), offering a potent, fast-acting, and effective treatment solution against chloroquine-resistant and multidrug-resistant strains of malaria.

This formulation is part of Artemisinin-based Combination Therapy (ACT), which is recognized and recommended globally by the World Health Organization (WHO) for treating uncomplicated P. falciparum malaria. Each tablet delivers:

• Artemether 80 mg: A rapid-acting derivative of artemisinin that reduces the parasite load quickly and offers immediate relief from symptoms such as fever, chills, and fatigue.

• Lumefantrine 480 mg: A longer-acting partner that clears residual parasites, prevents relapse, and completes the treatment process.

This 80/480 mg dosage strength simplifies the dosing schedule for larger patients by reducing the number of tablets required per dose, thereby improving compliance, accuracy, and convenience.
