Megapen 1gm Injection

Megapen 1gm Injection is a broad-spectrum injectable antibiotic combination used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. This formulation combines Ampicillin Sodium, a penicillin antibiotic effective against gram-positive and some gram-negative bacteria, with Cloxacillin, a penicillinase-resistant antibiotic that enhances efficacy against resistant bacterial strains.

• Ampicillin Sodium (500 MG) works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial death.

• Cloxacillin (500 MG) resists beta-lactamase degradation, making it effective against penicillin-resistant Staphylococcus infections.

This injectable combination is commonly prescribed for severe respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, bone and joint infections, sepsis, and other hospital-acquired infections.
