Montas L Tablet

Montas L Tablet is a prescription anti-allergic medicine that combines Levocetirizine 5 mg, a second-generation antihistamine, and Montelukast 10 mg, a leukotriene receptor antagonist. It is commonly used to treat allergic rhinitis (hay fever), seasonal allergies, perennial allergies, sneezing, runny nose, nasal congestion, itchy or watery eyes, and chronic urticaria (hives). It is also prescribed to help prevent allergy-triggered asthma symptoms and improve breathing in some patients. Levocetirizine relieves allergy symptoms by blocking the effects of histamine, while Montelukast reduces inflammation and swelling in the airways by blocking leukotrienes. Together, they provide long-lasting relief from allergy symptoms and improve overall respiratory comfort. Montas L should be taken regularly as prescribed by your doctor for maximum benefit. It is not intended for the treatment of sudden asthma attacks.

Montas L Tablet combines Levocetirizine 5 mg and Montelukast 10 mg to provide comprehensive relief from allergic conditions. Levocetirizine is a selective antihistamine that blocks the action of histamine, a chemical released during allergic reactions, thereby reducing symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, itchy eyes, watery eyes, and skin itching. Montelukast blocks leukotrienes, inflammatory substances that cause swelling of the nasal passages, mucus production, and airway narrowing. By targeting both histamine and leukotrienes, Montas L offers broader and longer-lasting allergy control than antihistamines alone. Regular use helps reduce allergy symptoms, improve breathing, enhance sleep quality, and support daily activities. However, it should not be used to treat sudden asthma attacks. Patients should follow the prescribed dosage and report any unusual mood or behavioral changes while taking Montelukast.

Precaution

• Use only under medical supervision.
• Inform your doctor if you have kidney disease, liver disease, epilepsy, or asthma.
• Tell your doctor about all medicines you are taking, including sedatives, sleeping pills, or other anti-allergy medications.
• This medicine may cause drowsiness or dizziness in some people. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how it affects you.
• Avoid alcohol, as it may increase drowsiness.
• Do not stop Montelukast suddenly if you are taking it for asthma unless advised by your doctor.
• Montelukast has been associated with rare neuropsychiatric side effects (such as agitation, mood changes, anxiety, depression, sleep disturbances, or suicidal thoughts). Contact your doctor immediately if these occur.
• Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding only if recommended by your doctor.

Storage

• Store below 30°C in a cool and dry place.

• Keep the tablets in their original blister pack.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack.
