Delivery within 1 or 2 daysOflona OTC Cream is a combination topical prescription medicine containing a corticosteroid (Clobetasol), an antifungal (Itraconazole), an antibiotic (Ofloxacin), and an antiprotozoal/anti-anaerobic agent (Ornidazole). It is intended for the treatment of certain inflammatory skin conditions associated with mixed bacterial and fungal infections, but only when specifically prescribed by a dermatologist. The cream helps reduce redness, itching, swelling, and discomfort while treating susceptible microorganisms. Because it contains Clobetasol, a very potent steroid, it should not be used routinely for common fungal infections such as ringworm, jock itch, or athlete's foot unless a doctor specifically recommends it. Inappropriate or prolonged use of steroid-containing combination creams can worsen fungal infections, mask symptoms, thin the skin, and contribute to antimicrobial resistance. Use the cream only for the prescribed duration and avoid self-medication.
Oflona OTC Cream combines Clobetasol Propionate 0.05%, Itraconazole 1%, Ofloxacin 0.75%, and Ornidazole 2% to treat selected inflammatory skin conditions complicated by susceptible bacterial and fungal infections. Clobetasol Propionate is a super-potent corticosteroid that rapidly reduces inflammation, redness, itching, and swelling. Itraconazole inhibits fungal cell membrane synthesis by blocking ergosterol production, helping eliminate susceptible fungi. Ofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic, inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, effectively killing susceptible bacteria. Ornidazole damages DNA in susceptible anaerobic bacteria and certain protozoa, providing additional antimicrobial coverage.
Although the combination may be beneficial in carefully selected cases, prolonged or inappropriate use—particularly because of the potent steroid—can mask infections, delay diagnosis, worsen fungal diseases, cause skin thinning, and contribute to antimicrobial resistance. Therefore, this cream should be used only under specialist supervision, in the recommended amount and duration, with regular reassessment if symptoms do not improve.
AIt is used to treat selected inflammatory skin conditions with mixed bacterial and fungal infections, only when prescribed by a doctor.
ANo. Because it contains the potent steroid Clobetasol, self-treatment of fungal infections may worsen or mask the infection. Use it only if prescribed by a dermatologist.
ANo. Long-term use increases the risk of skin thinning, stretch marks, steroid side effects, and worsening infections. Use it only for the prescribed duration.
AAvoid applying it to the face unless your doctor specifically instructs you to do so, as facial skin is more prone to steroid-related side effects.
AIf symptoms do not improve within the prescribed treatment period or worsen, stop self-use and consult your doctor for reassessment.
ASeek urgent medical care if you develop difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, severe skin irritation, rapidly spreading rash, worsening infection, or signs of a severe allergic reaction.
