Sildoease M 25 Tablet is a combination medication containing Mirabegron Extended-Release 25 mg and Silodosin 8 mg. It is designed to treat urinary symptoms associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and overactive bladder (OAB) in adult men. This dual-action therapy addresses both voiding and storage symptoms, improving urinary flow and reducing urgency and frequency of urination.
Composition:
- Mirabegron 25 mg: A beta-3 adrenergic agonist that relaxes the detrusor muscle of the bladder, increasing bladder capacity and reducing symptoms of urgency, frequency, and urge incontinence.
- Silodosin 8 mg: An alpha-1 adrenergic receptor antagonist that relaxes the smooth muscles in the prostate and bladder neck, improving urine flow and alleviating BPH symptoms such as difficulty urinating, weak stream, and incomplete bladder emptying.
Uses:
- Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH): Relieves symptoms like difficulty starting urination, weak urine stream, and frequent nighttime urination.
- Overactive Bladder (OAB): Manages symptoms such as frequent urination, urgency, and urge incontinence.
- Provides comprehensive relief for men with combined BPH and OAB symptoms, enhancing quality of life.
Key Benefits:
- Improved Urinary Flow: Silodosin relaxes prostate and bladder neck muscles, facilitating smoother urination.
- Reduced Urgency and Frequency: Mirabegron decreases bladder muscle spasms, reducing the sudden urge to urinate.
- Enhanced Bladder Control: The combination improves overall management of bladder and prostate symptoms.
- Convenient Dosage: Extended-release Mirabegron provides prolonged relief with once-daily dosing.
Dosage and Administration:
- Dosage: One tablet (Mirabegron 25 mg + Silodosin 8 mg) once daily, preferably at the same time each day.
- Administration: Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew.
- Food Intake: Silodosin should be taken with a meal to enhance absorption, while Mirabegron can be taken with or without food. Consistency in food intake is recommended for steady absorption.
- Note: Always follow the doctor’s prescribed dosage and regimen. Do not stop the medication abruptly, even if symptoms improve, as it does not cure BPH but manages symptoms.
Side Effects:
- Common:
- Mirabegron: Headache, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation, urinary tract infections, increased blood pressure, or heart rate.
- Silodosin: Retrograde ejaculation (semen enters the bladder instead of exiting), dizziness, lightheadedness, nasal congestion, diarrhea.
- Serious (Rare):
- Severe hypotension, allergic reactions (hives, difficulty breathing, swelling), or increased cardiovascular risks.
- Intraoperative floppy iris syndrome (IFIS) during cataract surgery (inform your surgeon if taking Silodosin).
- Action: Most side effects are mild and resolve over time. Consult a doctor if severe or persistent side effects occur.
Precautions:
- Contraindications: Avoid in patients with known hypersensitivity to Mirabegron or Silodosin, severe kidney or liver impairment, or severe uncontrolled hypertension. Not indicated for women, children, or adolescents under 18.
- Medical Conditions: Inform your doctor if you have kidney/liver problems, cardiovascular issues, or a history of fainting/dizziness.
- Drug Interactions: Avoid concurrent use with strong CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g., ketoconazole, itraconazole), antipsychotics, anti-arrhythmics, or blood pressure medications (e.g., doxazosin, prazosin), as they may cause low blood pressure or other interactions. Use caution with sildenafil, as it may increase the risk of hypotension.
- Lifestyle: Avoid sudden posture changes to prevent dizziness. Limit alcohol consumption, as its interaction with this medication is unknown. Avoid driving if dizziness or blurred vision occurs.
Storage:
- Store at room temperature (15–30°C) in a cool, dry place, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.
