Vegaz Suppository 1 gm contains Mesalazine (1 gm), an anti-inflammatory medicine used mainly for the treatment of inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) such as ulcerative colitis and proctitis.

It works directly on the lining of the rectum and lower intestine to reduce inflammation, swelling, and irritation. Mesalazine belongs to the class of aminosalicylates, which help control the immune response in the intestinal wall and reduce symptoms like rectal bleeding, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and urgency to pass stool. As a suppository, it is inserted into the rectum, allowing the medicine to act locally at the site of inflammation for faster and more targeted relief with minimal systemic absorption.
