Vigamox Eye Drop is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic eye drop used to treat bacterial eye infections, especially bacterial conjunctivitis (pink eye). It contains Moxifloxacin 0.5%, a broad-spectrum antibiotic that effectively kills many bacteria responsible for eye infections. It helps relieve symptoms such as redness, swelling, irritation, pain, sticky eye discharge, and watering while eliminating the infection. Vigamox is prescribed only for bacterial infections and is not effective against viral or fungal eye infections. The medicine should be used exactly as directed by your ophthalmologist, and the full course should be completed even if symptoms improve early to prevent bacterial resistance and recurrence of infection. Maintaining proper eye hygiene and avoiding touching or rubbing the infected eye can further support recovery and reduce the spread of infection.
