Actapro Od Tablet is an advanced prokinetic agent used for the management of functional dyspepsia (FD), particularly in patients who suffer from postprandial distress syndrome (PDS). Functional dyspepsia is a common gastrointestinal disorder characterized by symptoms such as early satiety, bloating, upper abdominal discomfort, and post-meal fullness in the absence of any identifiable organic cause.

Acotiamide belongs to a new generation of gastroprokinetic drugs. It works by inhibiting acetylcholinesterase, the enzyme responsible for breaking down acetylcholine in the gut. This leads to increased acetylcholine levels, which enhances gastric motility, improves gastric emptying, and restores normal stomach muscle function.

The 300 MG dose is a high-strength formulation, typically used in cases where the standard 100 MG dosage is not sufficient or in extended-release forms for once-daily administration. It may be considered in patients with persistent or severe symptoms under strict medical supervision.
