It is a fixed-dose combination (FDC) therapy that effectively controls high blood sugar levels, especially in patients whose diabetes is not adequately managed with metformin alone or other monotherapies.

This dual-action tablet contains:

• Alogliptin 12.5 mg, a DPP-4 inhibitor, which increases insulin secretion and decreases glucagon production in response to meals.

• Metformin 1000 mg, a biguanide, which reduces glucose production in the liver and improves insulin sensitivity in peripheral tissues.
