Larinate 200kit Tablet are a powerful combination antimalarial therapy used to treat uncomplicated malaria, especially in cases caused by Plasmodium falciparum. This formulation is designed for high-parasitemia cases or patients requiring a higher dose of artesunate, making it ideal in regions with chloroquine-resistant malaria and rising resistance to monotherapies.

Each tablet contains three active ingredients:

• Artesunate 200 mg: A fast-acting artemisinin derivative that targets and destroys malaria parasites in the early blood stage. It provides rapid symptomatic relief, including reduction in fever, chills, and body aches.

• Pyrimethamine 25 mg: An antimalarial and antiparasitic agent that inhibits folic acid synthesis in the parasite, interfering with DNA and protein production.

• Sulfadoxine 500 mg: A long-acting sulfonamide that works synergistically with pyrimethamine to eliminate residual parasites and prevent further replication.

This combination therapy is effective in clearing blood-stage parasites and offers extended protection against reinfection, making it suitable for both individual treatment and mass drug administration (MDA) in high-burden regions.

Due to the inclusion of higher-dose artesunate (200 mg), this formulation is typically prescribed in adults and adolescents weighing more than 35 kg, or as determined by a healthcare provider. It is taken orally, once daily, typically for 3 consecutive days, as part of a complete treatment regimen.
