Megapen Capsule

Megapen Capsule is a broad-spectrum oral antibiotic combination designed to treat a wide range of bacterial infections. This formulation combines Ampicillin Sodium, a penicillin antibiotic effective against many gram-positive and some gram-negative bacteria, with Cloxacillin, a penicillinase-resistant antibiotic, ensuring effectiveness against penicillin-resistant Staphylococcus infections.

• Ampicillin Sodium (250 MG) works by interfering with bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to the death of susceptible bacteria.

• Cloxacillin (250 MG) resists degradation by beta-lactamase enzymes, making it effective against resistant bacterial strains.

This combination is commonly prescribed for respiratory tract infections (bronchitis, pneumonia, sinusitis), urinary tract infections (UTIs), skin and soft tissue infections, ear infections (otitis media), bone and joint infections, and dental infections. It is particularly useful for mixed bacterial infections or infections that do not respond to single antibiotics.
